About
Hi, I’m Ahmad - the person writing (almost) everything you’ll find on DynamicBytes, working out of Lagos, Nigeria.
I built this platform for one specific reason: most of what’s out there for beginners and intermediate-level people getting into tech either oversimplifies everything or skips the parts that actually matter - the mistakes people make, the wrong turns, the stuff nobody tells you until you’ve already wasted six months learning it the hard way. I wanted a place that actually tells you the right path to follow, and just as importantly, the mistakes to avoid along the way.
That’s the whole mission, really. Not another “learn to code in 30 days” promise. Just honest, structured content that respects your time and tells you what’s actually true.
A Bit About Me
I hold a BSc in Computer Science, but a decent chunk of what I actually use day to day I picked up on my own - which is probably why I take self-taught developers just as seriously as anyone with a degree. I currently work as a back-end engineer, mostly living in Java and Spring Boot.
If you’ve read the back-end development post and wondered why it pushes Java and Spring Boot as the starting point instead of an easier language - that recommendation didn’t come from a textbook. It’s the stack I actually work in, and the roadmap reflects what genuinely made the concepts click for me, not just what looked good on paper.
What You’ll Find Here
DynamicBytes covers the ground that actually matters for someone building a career in tech:
- Complete, honest career roadmaps - cybersecurity, ethical hacking, front-end, back-end, full-stack, and more on the way
- Linux and the terminal - because most of the industry runs on it whether you notice or not
- Practical tooling guides - the stuff you actually need installed, not everything that exists
- Straight answers to the questions people are too embarrassed to ask, like “is this career path even still worth it?”
Everything here is built around the same idea: strong fundamentals first, hype-chasing never. If a topic is trending because it’s genuinely useful, we’ll cover it. If it’s trending because it’s trending, we’ll skip it.
Why “The Right Path” Matters
Most tech content falls into one of two traps: overwhelming, everything-at-once dumps that leave you more lost than when you started, or oversimplified fluff that skips the actual difficulty and leaves you unprepared for it. Neither respects the fact that you’re trying to build a real skill, not collect a badge.
Every roadmap on this blog is built the way I’d have wanted to receive it starting out. Structured. Sequential. Honest about what’s hard and why. The back-end roadmap is built around Java specifically because it’s harder - but that difficulty is the point. It builds understanding, not just familiarity with a framework’s shortcuts.
Stick Around
Whether you’re a computer science student, a completely self-taught developer, or someone changing careers entirely - the goal here has always been the same: build real understanding, not a shortcut around it.
If you want new posts and roadmaps sent straight to you, there’s a newsletter signup at the end of every post - no need to remember to check back.
I’m also building out a Telegram channel and a Discord server alongside the blog - still small right now, but that’s exactly the point. Getting in early means being part of the conversation from the ground floor rather than joining something that’s already sprawling and impersonal. If that sounds like your kind of thing, the links are in the footer.
Welcome to DynamicBytes 🤝🏾. If you’ve got questions, feedback, or just want to say hi - I’m around.
